Knight Life
The Monthly NEWSLETTER OF
Palm Beach Gardens Knights of Columbus Council 6988
AUGUST, 2010
Grand Knight's Notes
Brother Knights, your ladies and families:
The summer season is upon us and many are away to summer retreats or traveling. August is the Second Month of our Columbian Year and we have been busy working to man our important committees. Our next meeting is Monday August 9th, be on time please. Our new officers are requested to arrive at 7 PM to spend some time with the GK in meeting preparation.
We are fortunate to have two men who have stepped into leadership roles. They are Brothers Bill Bruckner , as Program Director, and Jim Rabideau as Membership Director. Each will give a description of their plans for the coming year. Listen and volunteer to help them in whatever area you have interest. For just a few hours a month someone will benefit from your participation.
Bring Food for the Poor to every meeting. Outreach Needs Help!! Sandy Kutcel reports that their pantry is bare and in need of food. We can place it in front of the Outreach Ministry office door.
God Bless Us All. Make it a Good Month!

Volunteering - Our Gift
In so many ways, the Knights of Columbus sets the standard for what it means to be a fraternal benefit society. We are just one of 76 fraternal associations that are members of the National Fraternal Congress of America, but we account for more than two-thirds of the volunteer hours reported for all 76 associations.
This Council’s efforts remarkably have been able to provide charitable assistance for many great causes. The Haitian earthquake is the most recent and lingering event needing our efforts.
Fr. Yves will lead a cadre of medical personnel to Haiti on August 8. Whatever goods and cash donations you can provide for relief for the homeless and hurting people of the island nation will be appreciated. Call Tom Melillo at 622-0855 for information or pick up.
